The Roman Empire and Religion

This is mostly about the Roman Religion. Romans built many temples to honor Zeus, Posidon etc… . But there were Jews that worshiped their God. There were some clashes between Romans and the Jews.Everytime, Jews were defeated. At the beginning of the first century AD, there were teaching called Christianity. They taughted about Jesus of Nazareth. In 1st century of BC, in Bethlehem, Jesus was born. He taught many people and did miracles. There’s famous painting of Leonardo da Vinci, Last Supper. 12 Apostlese

A Day’s Wait

When I saw the Author’s name, I was bit shocked I was reading a book ‘The old man and the sea’ that Ernest Hemingway wrote. And this was Hemingway’s story too. This story is about a boy who got fever and boy’s father. When doctor came to boy, boy was 102F. Father said to boy go to sleep but boy didn’t. Then father went out to catch some animals. When he came back, boy was waiting all day to die because France boys told him that when the fever become more than 44degrees, people will die, but the boy is 102. Father said it’s okay and told the boy truth. and boy became as before(I think).

From Republic to Empire

 This is about Roman Republic to Roman Empire and how did it become. The Great general, Julius Caesar got power. Caesar and his freind Pompey and Crassus. They ruled Rome together. But when Caesar became king, some senators were angry about Caesar and Killed him. After Caser, there were Caesar’s former assistant, Antony and Caesar’s adopted son Octavian. Anthony and Octavian toghether ‘arrested’ senators. After finishing arresing people, Antony married with Octavian’s sister, Octavia. But 8 years later, Antony married with Cleopatra. This made Civil war. So, Octavian defeated Antony’s army. After Changing to Roman Empire, there were techniques in Rome. Such as making Arch not to crash easily. Romas even built Colosseum. Roman had law named Civil law. Now, most of Europe country has Civil law.

The war of wall

This story’s character is ‘Me’ and the narrator’s cousin, Lou. One day characters saw some Paint Lady from New York was painting at the wall where many kids played. and character sayed “You are not even from around here”(Oh, I saw this sentence in Literature book! It was in this story!). After school, sisters brought some food to  Lady but she said she had some food she had brought. But it was lie. She went to Narrator’s restaurant and made Mama feel much anger. Some days later, painter was gone. but there was Matin Luther King Jr. and Malcom X in paint. Painter said that she did for her cousin, Jimmy Lyons(I think Jimmy’s dead and for memory of him). I was really curious about what is she doing in Narrator’s village’s wall. After reading story, then I understanded. But I’m wondering Who is Malcom X??? 

That October

One day, Russian army comes to Rudy. It’s because Cuba Government’s window was broken. Ruby tells the story. Rudy had Polio. Though it was all right, he couldn’t walk well, and always limped. Then, Rudy wanted to go into Tigers baseball team. At first, Tigers refused him. But, Rudy went second time. Then Alfredo said that he could come into the tigers. Tigers were good. They won almost all game, and went to World Series. Tigers met Leopards. First, Tigers won. Second and Third, Leopard won. At the Fourth game, leopards was winning 3:1, and it was Rudy’s turn. 1st and 3rd base. He hit the ball. It went high. He got ground homerun. Tigers won. Though Leopards won the World Series, it was really good memory.

 I really like baseball. And this is about baseball. I really liked this story. So I read this really fast. Well, I can’t Imagine Rudy’s life after going to Miami.

Rise of Rome

Rome is in Italy(Wow!). It’s not so flat. There are many hills there. There is Mount Vesuvius too. For Rome’s legenday origins, there’s Aeneas that carried his father from burning city. He also gathered people and defeated their enemy. Almost everybody knows Romulus and Remus. They are raised by a wolf, and the book says that they are descendants of Aeneas. In Rome, people chose dictators, rulers with almost absolute power. Famous of them are Cincinnatus.

 There was Patricians that are Wealthy, and Plebeians that are common. In 494BC, Plebeians made their own council and elected officials.

My short story

Frank woke up. His eyes were wet. It was same daily life everyday. I will tell you about Frank. He’s family is all superhero. HIs father is Thor, His mother is Jane Poster(Well, she is not superhero at all). Three uncle of him is Captain America, Hulk and Iron man. and His cousin is Spiderman. But!!!!! He was adopted when he was 6. Almost every adoptive parents are bad to adopted ones and loves just thier kids, Frank’s adoptive parents(especially mother) liked him and really loved him. But, there was something empty in his heart.There was no real love from frank’s own parents. He always cried. Everyday. He was at the sky, but came to Philadelphia, U.S.A., so people can understand. Same here too. Adoptive parents understood that he was at very sad mood, so didn’t want to make him more sad and angry. Months went, Years went, 5 Years went. Frank always cried and just… You know, what people do when they are sad. Like scream sometimes, and throwing things. As Frank do the same thing, Parents and children(They are two) became more and more angry. So, they planned to make Frank go out of their house. While Frank cried, Families slowly walked to Frank’s room and….and… KA-BOOM! When Frank went outside of his room, his adoptive family was all fainted and then, he saw his father. Thor said “Hey, boy. Let’s go!”. While going up to the sky, Frank asked angrily”Father. Why did you ‘Trash’ me to here?” Then Thor said”Ooh, you can’t say such thing as that! Don’t you remember? You were playing in danger area and you fell down to Earth!” Frank fainted…….

1st writing workshop I’ve read!^^

 This is like lesson review. Because It uses some story in this lesson. ‘Dive’. At the model, it has a lot of details about the story.

 There was things that I have learned at 1st-5th grade. Such as Point of View, writing drafts, and some proofreading.

I was bit surprised about Conflict about this story Dive. I think Mr. Beaukema(Is this spelling right?) said when we read Amigo brothers. I think I can truly understand now.

Question: Why there’s no Second person in Point of View?

ZOO

This is short story that is talking about Professor Hugo from Kaan shows very mysterious and wonderful zoo to people on earth(this takes place in Chicago) people on earth is really having attention to zoo. After showing for 6 hours, Professer Hugo goes to other planet and show others too. After going to many planets, those creatures go back home. and says that earth’s people is the best.
